The Bittle Residency in Jazz, established in 2002 by a gift from Edward L. and Frances Yates Bittle, brings renowned jazz musicians to The University of Akron to share their tremendous talents with UA students and audience members from throughout the region during the UA School of Music's annual JazzFest.

The Bittle Jazz Artists share their talent and expertise with UA’s music students during rehearsals, performances, master classes, and one-on-one lessons.

The inaugural Bittle Residency featured acclaimed flutist Nestor Torres, who captivated the campus and community in March 2003 with his high-energy Latin jazz. Torres is returning for this year's 10th Bittle Jazz Residency.
